Souffi Terms of Use

Welcome to Souffi, South Africa’s hyperlocal, community-centered social network (“Souffi”, “we”, “us”,or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Souffi mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

By creating an account or using Souffi, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Souffi.

1. Purpose of Souffi

Souffi is a national and community-based digital platform designed to connect South Africans, empower communities and encourage positive engagement, collaboration and creativity.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Souffi.

If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Platform.

3. User Accounts

To use Souffi, you must create an account with accurate and up-to-date information.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Violate these Terms

  • Use false, misleading or impersonated information

  • Engage in unlawful or harmful activities

4. Acceptable Use and Community Conduct

Souffi promotes respectful, constructive and truthful interaction.

By using the Platform, you agree NOT to post, upload, or share any content that:

  1. Is false, misleading, or spreads disinformation or propaganda

  2. Is defamatory, derogatory, harassing or abusive

  3. Promotes hate speech, discrimination, racism, xenophobia or violence

  4. Contains pornographic, sexually explicit or suggestive content

  5. Violates privacy or intellectual property rights of others

  6. Incites crime, vandalism or public disorder

  7. Spams, scams or advertises illegitimate services

  8. Contains malware, viruses or harmful code

  9. Pretends to represent Souffi or its partners without authorisation

Souffi reserves the right to:

  • Remove or moderate content that violates these rules

  • Suspend or permanently ban offending users

  • Report illegal content to law enforcement or regulatory bodies

5. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of all content you post on Souffi.
However, by posting content, you grant Souffi a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.

You are solely responsible for your posts, comments, photos, videos and other submissions. Souffi is not responsible for user-generated content shared on the Platform.

6. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, designs and software used on Souffi are the intellectual property of Souffi or its licensors.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform without written permission.

7. Events, Competitions and Marketplaces

Souffi may host or promote events, competitions and business listings.

By participating, you agree to comply with the official rules, eligibility requirements, and applicable laws.

Souffi is not responsible for third-party contests, prizes or transactions unless stated otherwise.

8. Learning, Movies and Games Modules

Certain Souffi modules (for example, Courses, Movies or Games) may include third-party content or external links.

Souffi is not responsible for the accuracy, safety or legality of such third-party materials.

Users must observe copyright, age restrictions and fair use policies when engaging with media.

9. Privacy

Your use of Souffi is also governed by our [Privacy Policy].

We collect and process your data in accordance with POPIA (South Africa), GDPR (EU) and Google Play requirements.

10. Advertising and Sponsorship

Souffi may display advertisements or sponsored content.
We strive to ensure ads are relevant and appropriate.

By using the app, you consent to the display of advertising in accordance with your preferences and applicable privacy laws.

11. Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or permanently disable access to your account if:

  • You violate these Terms or community standards

  • You post prohibited or harmful content

  • You misuse Souffi for fraudulent or illegal purposes

You may delete your account at any time in the app settings.

Upon termination, your rights to use Souffi end immediately, though we may retain limited data as required by law.

12. Disclaimers

Souffi is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We make no guarantees that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Souffi is not liable for loss or damages resulting from:

  • User content or interactions

  • Service interruptions or data loss

  • Unauthorized access to your account

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Souffi, its founders, developers and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Souffi harmless from any claims, damages or expenses arising from:

  • Your content or conduct on the Platform

  • Violation of these Terms or others’ rights

15. Modifications to the Terms

We may update these Terms periodically.

Changes will be effective immediately upon posting within the app or on our website.

Continued use of Souffi after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Johannesburg, South Africa or another agreed venue.
